Contact Us for Custer County Records

Questions about a Custer County booking, custody status, court case, or record request must go to the government office that holds the information. This private reference resource cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, or retrieve an official file. The sheriff's records unit is the documented starting point for a county booking record or photo, while the courts, IDOC, BOP, and ICE cover different record stages.

Custer County Busted Mugshots is a private reference resource, not a government office. We cannot confirm a person's current custody, release anyone, post bond, or pull official booking records. Contact the government office that holds the record for a current answer or an official copy.

Reach Custer County Records

No official public online roster, photo-bearing custody search, or booking feed was located for Custer County as of August 18, 2026. The Custer County Sheriff's Office operates Custer County Jail, so its records unit is the right starting point for a booking record or booking photograph. The sheriff's official office page and county contact page should take priority over directory listings.

The public-records form lists records-technician hours as Monday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Mountain time, excluding holidays and training. The sheriff's web page lists office hours as Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. These are different schedules, so confirm the right hours before visiting or sending a time-sensitive request.

Request a booking record or photo

Use the official Custer County Sheriff's Office Public Records Request form. Submit the request in writing and identify the existing booking record or booking photograph you want, along with the person's name and a useful arrest or booking date range. A specific incident description can help the records technician locate the right file. The form warns that some law-enforcement records are exempt and that records held on loan from another agency are not released by the sheriff.

For a photograph or video, the form calls for an unopened 16GB thumb drive, a $2 processing fee for each drive, and prepaid return shipping. The USPS address is the P.O. Box above; FedEx and UPS deliveries use 130 S. 9th Street #344. The form also says requests over 100 pages may incur actual copy costs. If redaction work or locating and copying records takes more than two person-hours, actual employee time may be charged, with overtime at one and one-half times the wage. Costs must be itemized and prepaid, and the form lists cash, check, or money order payable to Custer County.

There is a response-timeline conflict to verify before relying on a deadline. The local form prints three working days for Idaho residents and 21 working days for out-of-state requesters. Current Idaho Attorney General guidance says the statewide limits can be up to 10 working days for Idaho residents and 35 days for nonresidents. Ask the records unit which schedule applies to the request. Do not treat either number as a promise from this private site.

For Challis, Mackay, or Stanley, city law-enforcement service routes back to the county sheriff in the official local sources. That means city hall may refer a question, but it is not identified as the custodian of county booking photographs. A county booking record also does not prove current custody, and a charge in an arrest entry is an accusation, not a conviction. Check the court record for later case action.

Where to look for the right record

Use the following route based on the question being asked. Each source covers a different custody or record stage, and none should be treated as a substitute for another.

  • County booking record or photo: Start with the Custer County Busted Mugshots guide for the county path, then send the written request to the Custer County Sheriff's Office. No official online roster or feed was located.
  • Warrant or court question: Use Custer Courts and the statewide iCourt public portal. A court result is not a live jail-custody confirmation.
  • State custody: Search the Idaho Department of Correction Resident/Client Search for people in IDOC custody, probation, parole, or related state supervision. It is not a county booking roster and has no booking-photo field.
  • Federal custody: Use the Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator only for a federal custody question. A county arrest does not by itself place someone in BOP custody.
  • Immigration detention: Use the official ICE Online Detainee Locator System for an immigration-detention question. It does not report routine Custer County bookings.
  • Emergency: Call 911 for an emergency. Use (208) 879-2232 for the sheriff's non-emergency contact route.
